About

Preston specializes primarily in web design, front-end Drupal development, web accessibility, and print and brand design. Since 2001, he has built scores of websites for corporate, governmental, and non-profit interests for an eclectic clientèle from across the country. He works in print and identity design to create powerful messages and routinely advocates improved user experience on the web.
In 2004, Preston established his design studio, followed a year later by the lauded blog Seraphic Zephyr, published until 2007. His past work includes leading creative production for Monarch Digital and extensive consulting for school districts, where his advice on accessibility addressed concerns of users with disabilities.
Since his first introduction to Drupal in 2007, Preston has been a learner and leading educator in the front-end aspects of the open-source content management system. He co-founded the Southern Colorado Drupal Group, which he helped manage until 2009.
Preston has spoken at several major conventions, including DrupalCon 2009 in Washington, D.C., where he co-presented a warmly received session concerning best practices of design in Drupal themes with Matt Tucker. A DrupalCon DC 2009 Scholar, Preston was interviewed as part of Lullabot's Drupal Voices series.
Preston is currently Prototype Developer at Acquia, where he is a member of the Spark team and spearheaded a recent redesign of The Harvard Crimson's online edition as Director of Web Strategy. He is a third-year undergraduate at Harvard University pursuing an A.B. in Linguistics and Government. Currently working on a Drupal-related book geared toward students, Preston is twenty, an avid violinist-composer, and amateur cartographer with a penchant for good movies and the Colorado outdoors.
